Before applying Jagua Gel to the skin, it is essential to do a small test on the wrist; If you find that you are not allergic to natural products you can continue with the use of the product.
Step One: Apply the Jagua Gel to the skin.
Decide the design & where you want your jagua tattoo to go and accordingly apply the Jagua Gel to the skin. When it comes to designs, the possibilities are endless. Bridal designs, Mandala patterns, animals, or tribal-style designs, let your imagination go free! Popular spots include the hands, feet, ankles, wrists, chest, collarbone area & thighs.
Step Two: Allow at least 2 hours for the Jagua Gel to dry completely
After applying the Jagua Gel to the skin, allow it to dry for at least 2-4 hours. It's best to use this time to relax. Try not to stretch or push the skin together. Make sure you don't bump the design, as the stain will be set anywhere that it touches.
Step Three: Wash away the dry Jagua Gel with running water and soap.
Clean your skin thoroughly with soap and water. Dry your skin with a towel thoroughly after washing. You may also wish to exfoliate the area gently with a washcloth or sponge to remove dead skin cells. This will help the gel stick to your skin, and make the design last longer.
Step Four: Don't Panic! It will look Pale and Blurry at this stage.
Even after 6 hours, the design will be faint at first so don't panic; this is normal. It's important not to scrub or tug at your skin during this time.
Step Five: After 12 - 48 Hours, the Jagua Stain will completely develop.
12 - 48 Hours later, will see a dark-bluish Jagua stain on the skin which lasts for 1 to 2 weeks. Drink lots of water and apply lotion to the design daily. Apply sunscreen to the design if it will be exposed to prolonged periods of sunlight.
